Socio-economic realities around the world continuously bring to the light the ever increasing inequalities and widening social gap. Marx once stressed that "the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles". This is but a lucid acknowledgement of the fact that societies would always comprise the privileged and less privileged. But what is done to ameliorate this unavoidable anomaly is most important. In any case, one of the means of bridging this divide has been philantrophism.

A distinguishing attribute of great philanthropists is their unwavering resolve in creating an enabling environment for people to achieve their dreams and also make life worth living. Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo (Macaire) is unarguably one the greatest philanthropist of this time.

He is a man with a golden heart; generous to a fault. Obviously, his life is defined by the words of Shari Arison "it’s important to think good, speak good and do good, If we want to see positive change in the world, then we need to connect to goodness".

Macaire's unparalleled philantrophism is overwhelming. Countless times, when the push comes to shove, he always gets the job done.
He continuously demonstrates an unrelenting resolve in changing the plight of the masses.

Interestingly, the impacts of his philanthropic activities cut across the state. In his previous engagement, it is on record that Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo  employed over 300 Akwa Ibomite, including his traitors of today.

A man, who provided free medical services, various skill acquisition programmes, scholarship to the youths, business grants running into hundreds of millions to his people, all from personal capacity working in the private sector of the Oil & Gas Industries.

This and other numerous social intervention programmes he has put in place in the federal constituency attest to the fact that he has the interest of his people at heart.

Ikono/ Ini federal constituency should not be swayed by those who suddenly come with "Greek Gifts" as the elections draw nearer.

Rather, they should think deep and look on to Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, a man who has proven his mettle in touching lives; a common trait in outstanding leaders.

I am stunned by his default predisposition to philantrophism dating back to many years.

With Ukpong-Udo in the green chambers, Ntippe Ibibio are assured of effective representation, one that is driven by the desire to ensure that leadership affects lives.
