Forum Of 2017 PDP Councillorship Aspirants Cries Out

The members of the FORUM OF 2017 PDP COUNCILLORSHIP ASPIRANTS in Akwa Ibom state cried out to the leadership of the People's Democratic Party to rekindle their fate in the party.

It was a sea of heads as the members of the forum gathered at Galilee resorts on the 15th day of May, 2018 to analyze their fate in the party.

The members of the forum turned out in their numbers of over 1,000 across the state to express their disappointment in what they described as ill treatment, inhumane and a clear case of Man's In Humanity To Man .

According to Mr Effiong E  Ekpo, who described the defection of the 84 members of the forum as justifiable considering the ill treatment by the leadership of the party in the state towards the grassroot politicians, he said " I regret not joining the other 84 members who defected to the All progressive congress"

It is not news that about 84 members of this forum defected to APC on account of negligence of the leadership of the Party in the state to address their Plight after the inaugural meeting which Rt Hon Ekong Sampson was in attendance as the State Government Representative.

The members also expressed disappointment in the selection process of Local Government supervisors and special Adviser in their various Local Government Areas.
They alleged that some persons who made the list as members of Local Government Executives council were imported from far northern Nigeria, while others are serving civil servant of grade level 14, without consideration to the aspirants who had spent time and resources in the party.

The entire members of the forum, frowned at the recent incident which took place in mkpat Enin LGA, where persons who anticipated to becoming supervisors but did not make the list, staged a protest, and were compensated with an inter ministerial work worth 13 million naira, but the real Grassroot Politicians who consulted door to door, are left to face their fate.

The state coordinator of the forum, Ulap Bassey j Bassey pleaded with the members and suggested that all available remedies be exhausted before taking actions. " I suggest that we embark on a courtesy visit to all Stakeholders of the party  across the state, present our Plight to them, Lets assume that the leadership for the party is not aware of our Plight, until when we have tried to negotiate with them and it fails, then we can consider defecting" He said.

A motion was duly moved and seconded for the consideration of exhausting available remedies by paying courtesy visit to all Stakeholders of the party across the state to present their Plight.

A motion was also duly moved and seconded by the members to defect enmass to APC if negotiations fails.

It's worth noting that the grassroot movement holds about 15% total voting strength as statistics shows that if the forum collapse structure to APC, they will move with over 126,700 party faithfuls. First to be experience in the state in recent times.
